Obviously, humor is not reserved for the elderly! It is for this reason that we decided to compile a substantial list of twenty comics and cartoons about growing up that are nearly but not quite complete! Humor appeals to people of all ages and cultures. Because most people can laugh at themselves or at something humorous (like a joke), it is assumed that they have a sense of humor. It is likely that unstable, strange, or even dangerous behavior will inspire a hypothetical person who lacks a sense of humor.
Though humor is ultimately subjective, a person’s degree of amusement can be influenced by a number of factors, including intelligence, context, maturity, educational attainment, geographic location, culture, and personal taste. Because of their physical characteristics, slapstick entertainment, like Tom and Jerry cartoons or Punch and Judy puppet shows, may be appealing to younger audiences. On the other hand, more sophisticated comedic devices like satire typically appeal to an older audience because they require an understanding of their social meaning and context.
